When you need PNG instead of SVG
Social networks
Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn don't accept SVG. For avatars, covers, posts, you need PNG or JPEG. Convert your logo to PNG at the required size.
Mobile applications
iOS and Android require raster icons in multiple sizes. Create PNG set from SVG: 1x for standard screens, 2x and 3x for Retina.
Presentations and documents
PowerPoint, Keynote, Word work better with PNG. SVG may display incorrectly or not be supported when exporting to PDF.
Email newsletters
Email clients don't support SVG. Logo in email must be PNG or JPEG. Use 2x for sharpness on mobile devices.
Favicon and Open Graph
Favicon can be SVG in modern browsers, but PNG is a reliable fallback. Open Graph images (link previews) require PNG or JPEG.
